Welcoming family from New Orleans

Last Sunday, Dave's family from New Orleans was evacuated due to the unwanted visit of Hurricane Gustav. We had five of them stay at our house, and 6 others stayed with my in-laws and sister in law. It was unexpected, but it was welcoming. I actually hadn't seen them since my sister-in-law's wedding back in 2002! So, it was very nice to see them again. None of them had met Sophia, of course, and she was over herself with the amount of attention she got from everyone.

It was a bit odd because Dave and I had been planning to go visit them this labor day weekend... well, we cancelled due to the hurricane, and they came to us. I am very happy no major damage was done to the city of New Orleans (at least, nothing even close to Katrina three years ago), and that they were able to return safely to their homes. Plus, I'm very glad Sophia got to meet more family, who were wonderful and sweet to her throughout. Dave's aunt, Fay, is actually very sick, and we got to see her as well.
